All seven ELCA churches in Washtenaw County, Michigan are coming together as one for the first time to support meaningful work in the community. The first project we are focusing on how we all can address the issue of plastic pollution.

Big Bodacious Bold (or Be3 as we call ourselves) was born from a desire to maximize the impact of seven sister congregations in Washtenaw County. Each one of our churches does work to serve the community, but we knew we could have an even greater impact working together. During the initial meetings it became clear that Creation Care (Environmentalism) was something close to the hearts of the the representatives of all congregations. Amazingly, Recycle Ann Arbor had just begun creating their Plastic Pollution Solution campaign. Our seven congregations signed on to run a pilot drop off program. 

Many Be3 participants are Thrivent Financial Members and Thrivent generously puts its resources behind the passions of its members, supporting collaborative members. They have been a great partner in this process.
